We are very pleased
to present these portraits of our homebred stallions HELICON EPILOGUE at 3
and HELICON CORSAIR at 9. Our dear dear friend in Illinois, Vicki Ochsner
Crone, is the artist. She may be reached at vjc81@yahoo.com. Decades ago
Vicki painted a magnificent portrait of our Morgan stallion, Cajun Pepper,
and a sweet picture of our first Welsh mare, Brookside Sparkle, who was a
family treasure from 1957 to 1984.

We will be standing
these boys as well as a few select mares to the venerable GLANNANT COUNTRY
ROADS. We were in Alachua, Florida (still battling against the
Wal-Mart projects) until mid-2005 and then in Rockton, Illinois.
|
In January we welcomed our intern
from Salem Academy in NC, Miss J.J. Wyatt, and her mom of Greenville, SC.
We had such an exciting time! Those ponies and cobs who were "out standing in
their field" were ridden and driven a
whole bunch!
|
We welcomed two special foals
during these three weeks as well - the first from GlanNant Country Roads
and Rollingwoods Gin-N-Tonic. Our order was in for a filly this time after
two full brothers. Toni's firstborn, Helicon Take Notice, had a fabulous
year as Reserve Champion in Smalls at the Pony Hunter Finals and USEF
Horse of the Year Reserve Champion! Her sire, GlanNant Epic, was again in
the top 2% of USEF LEADING PONY HUNTER SIRES and we were also top 2% in
the new USEF LEADING PONY HUNTER BREEDERS!
|
The second foal will be from Country
and our dun purebred Epic daughter, Patchwork Dragon Charmer. This will be
a 3/4 sibling in blood to the beautiful Patchwork Strawberry!
|
Country Roads surely did us proud
with fourth in USEF LEADING PONY HUNTER BREEDING SIRES and his offspring,
Helicon Country Grace and Helicon Easy Street, also put us in third place
in USEF LEADING PONY HUNTER BREEDING BREEDERS (what a mouthful!) with
their excellent Zone 4 and Zone 2 tricolors!
|
Our other eagerly awaited foal in
April is a repeat of Helicon Platinum Blonde by *Smoke Tree Silver Dragon
out of Helicon All Smiles aka "Amber" who is also an Epic daughter. Need
we say more! Amber has also done us proud with H Miles of Smiles who will
be making his hunter debut this season, the Zone 2 Res Champion in Pony
Breeding Yearlings H Easy Street, and his brother, H Bond Street who is
for sale.

SUMMER OF 2004
|
| With
my anti-WalMart deposition out of the way (we don't want a 1.25M sq. ft.
distribution center across our fencelline!) George and I were in Rockton,
IL this summer trying to organize two grand old houses (1870
& 1923) with 41 years of accumulation preparatory to selling. We
had 7 ponies (Corsair, 3 mares, & 3 youngsters) and the 2 cob mares with
us. Five
ponies stayed at our Florida home including a tall elegant BLACK Corsair
filly - full sister to the American Sport Pony Site Champion, Helicon Cordelia. Of course, this one was foaled the night we'd left Florida
on May 21st. She is for sale to a show home. |

Epilogue's big brother,
Helicon Special Notice,

H. Special Notice
(full brother to H. Take Notice. Pony Finals CH)

half of George's driving pair) |

|
Epilogue's big
brother, Helicon Special Notice, is in training in Colorado. "Hot
Rod" is 14.1 1/2 hands of athletic beauty - looks like a larger version
of Take Notice, his full sister. |

Here
is another Epic daughter, Silver Steps (Helicon Garden Party), with our
tiny friend, Devin Seek of Ocala, FL. We are tickled to see
Christina back with "Missy" as she launched this grand campaigners
career with Susie Fried back in 1993 - for the first of 4 Horse of the
Year titles. |

Meet our
latest treasure! This is a mare I have loved since she spent her
foal summer with us in 1988. Patchwork Dragon Charmer is by
GlanNant Epic out of a GlanNant Tango mare so her movement is a given!
Her full brother is the gorgeous palomino stallion, P. Gold Nugget.
We are looking forward to a GlanNant Country Roads foal, a 3/4 sibling
to the lovely small pony hunter champion, P. Strawberry. We thank
Pat Dekko for the opportunity to have this purebred Epic daughter to
join our two crossbreds - all superb broodmares! |
